About REDCap at the Life Span Institute

About this server (data.lsi.ku.edu/redcap/)

The Research Design & Analysis (RDA) unit of the Life Span Institute (LSI) provides REDCap as a service to its investigators. REDCap is housed on a HIPAA-compliant, encrypted, secure web server for online data collection and utilizes a a HIPAA-compliant database server for data storage. RDA's servers are securely housed in KU's central IT Services.

The RDA REDCap administrator actively participates in the REDCap Consortium, the group of participating institutions who administer, use and support REDCap. They are vital to understanding its uses and features, and to keeping up to date on software updates and best practices.

How we bill for REDCap

These are the fees associated with REDCap projects. We bill by Primary Investigator, so if a PI already has REDCap projects, there are not additional fees or costs beyond the initial setup and annual maintenance for the first project. We do not count or bill by projects or users.

Direct assistance from Lisa Hallberg, REDCap administrator, or Dr. Ed Auer, informatics analyst, are billed quarterly for hourly work provided.

Annual fees are billed at the end of the 1st Quarter, in early April of each year.
